I come home late once in my life,
You give me hell then say goodnight.
I dye my hair because it’s cool,
You talk shit and give me rules.
I try to say what’s on my mind,
But you turn ‘round; I’m left behind.
You’re always right about everything,
No one compares to you.
I’m just a naïve little girl,
but you are such a fool.
You tell me things I already know,
That make you think you’re special.
Chorus:
Now I’m losing sleep,
Not knowing what,
Could set you off,
Have you going ‘round,
And ‘round and ‘round,
You make it such a chore,
To be sorry for,
Not being you.
What I wear is it good enough,
Will it make you happy?
Can I pull it off,
Be what you need,
Me to be.
But is it me?
It just ain’t me!
Chorus 2:
Cause I’m losing sleep,
To be the perfect girl.
Try not to set you off,
Be the perfect girl.
But it’s such a chore,
Can’t take anymore.
I’m not the girl you want me to be,
So stop trying to change me.
Chorus 3:
Now I’m losing sleep,
Not knowing what,
Could set you off,
Have you going ‘round,
And ‘round and ‘round,
You make it such a chore,
To be sorry for…
Chorus 3:
Now I’m losing sleep,
Not knowing what,
Could set you off,
Have you going ‘round,
And ‘round and ‘round,
You make it such a chore,
To be sorry for…
So Sorry for,
Not being you.
I started this song a few years ago and stopped at the first few lines. I guess when I started it I didn't know where I wanted to take it and just shoved it to the side. But I found it last year and after reading what I had i figured out what I wanted and started finishing it. So here's the completed lyrics for Being You. I think this is the first song I wrote that actually relates to what happened me to.
